Career
Sharmin started her career in the Indian film industry as an assistant director with her maternal uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She debuted in the industry as an assistant director in the blockbuster movie Goliyon ke RassLeela, RamLeela in 2013.
After getting hands-on experience, she also assisted in other movies including Bajirao Mastani, Gangubai Katiawali, and Marycom. She made her first onscreen appearance with the romantic movie Malaal, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She was cast opposite Meezan Jafri and brilliantly portrayed the role of Astha Tripathi.
