Kim Namjoon is a singer and team leader of the South Korean boy band BTS who was born on September 12, 1994, in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, South Korea. He is famous for his powerful and thoughtful rap style and has contributed to writing and directing many of BTS’s songs.

Namjoon has also released a few solo songs under the name RM (Rap Monster) including RM and Mono. He has collaborated with other famous artists, such as Wale, Steve Aoki, and Lil Nas X. Early Life

He was born on September 12, 1994, in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. From a young age, he showed a love for music and his passion for rap and hip-hop became prominent during his struggling years.

Family

His father Kim Nam-soo is a businessman and his mother Kang Hee-jin is a housewife. He has one younger sister Kim Kyung-min.

Girlfriend

Education

Namjoon graduated from Global Cyber University, where he studied broadcasting, and completed his master’s in Business Administration at Hanyang Cyber University.

Career

RM started his career as a singer, rapper and joined many local bands to enhance his singing skills. In 2010, he joined the underground hip-hop crew Daenamhyup. In 2013, Namjoon was selected by Big Hit Entertainment to be the leader of a new boy band, BTS. This group debuted in June 2013 with the single album “2 Cool 4 Skool”. Later on, he released his own two solo mixtapes, RM (2015) and Mono (2018).
